The Iowa Mennonite School boys and girls track teams were on the oval at Danville Thursday night.

On the boys side Iowa Mennonite finished six out of six competing teams with their score of 23 points. Winfield-Mt. Union took the boys team title with 162 points. Highlights for IMS included Drake Brezina taking third in the long jump with a leap of 19’2″. Brezina was also third in the 400 in 54.39 seconds and fourth in the 200 with a time of 24.95 seconds. Levi Geyer took third for IMS in the 3200 with a time of 11:36.98 seconds.

For the Iowa Mennonite girls they finished in fifth place out six competing schools with their overall score of 71 points. Danville won their home meet with a score of 134 points. IMS had three event champions on the night. In the field events Emma Beachy won the discus with her throw of 82’8.25″. IMS went one and two in the 100m hurdles with Rubye Ney taking the title in 18.26 seconds and teammate Rachel Miller finishing right behind her in 18.83 seconds. The Iowa Mennonite 4×100 relay team of Rachel Miller, Taylor Guyer, Mackenzie Gutierrez and Suzanna Yoder also won their event championship with a time of 56.66 seconds. The IMS boys and girls track teams will next be in action Tuesday when they travel to Williamsburg.
