On Wednesday, April 13th, 16 Iowa Mennonite School students took part in the art district workshops held at Southeastern Community College in Burlington.

Workshop topics included covering acrylic painting, watercolor, graphic design, weaving, floral arrangement, jewelry, pastels and ceramics. Along with the workshops, each school chose 15 works that best represent their art program to display at the juried show at the gallery. Several IMS students received recognition for the work they submitted. Monet Slabach was chosen Best in Show. Rachael Hovde received first place in the graphics design category, Isaac Miller got a second place award, also in graphic design. Taylor Guyer was second in the photography category, Sydney Moreland was third in acrylic painting and computer graphics artwork. Allison Moreland also placed third in the watercolor category.
