A yearly event is set to take place later this week in Kalona. The annual Kalona Quilt and Craft Show is set for Thursday through Saturday at the Kalona REC Center.

Jacob Lampe is the director of the Kalona Chamber of Commerce and says there will 350 new and antique quilts on display over the three days. Some of the vintage quilts were made over 140 years ago.The quilt show kicks off Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday the event runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and it will conclude on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Coinciding with this year’s Kalona Quilt and Craft show is the Vintage and Handmade at the Village event hosted by the Kalona Historical Village. The event will run Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will consist of vendors selling homemade soaps, vintage furniture, re-purposed home decor, clothing, and herbs.
