KCII Radio’s news and sports departments were awarded Saturday at the annual Iowa Broadcast News Association conference. Sally Hart received first place in Farm and Agribusiness News for small market radio for an interview with WEDG Director Ed Raber about organic farming in Washington County and the greater corridor. Hart also received second place in general reporting, third place in public affairs and third place in feature for “March to Rose Bowl” an interview with Lisa and Don Hughes about their involvement with the Iowa Hawkeye Marching Band.

The KCII Sports team of Zach Ulin and Nate Gonner received an honorable mention for sports feature for their story of the Mid-Prairie girls’ cross country team winning a perfect score at the Keota Invitational.
