The Keota City Council met earlier this week. At a citizen’s request, the council was asked to investigate and consider regulations about what is allowed in the business district with respect to junk nuisances. They also discussed street closures that will occur on June 12th for the dedication ceremony for the Veterans Memorial, considered options for controlling flow on the watershed north of town, ordinances for vendors, the proposed 2015-16 budget amendment, among other matters. Perhaps the highlight of the meeting was the council voting unanimously to open the pool this summer. They anticipate six lifeguards, two concession stand workers, and a manager.
