Lake Darling is the subject of a documentary that is premiering on television this Sunday. The 30-minute documentary is titled “Darling is Back! The Restoration of Lake Darling” and focuses on the work done to revitalize the park names for cartoonist and conservationist Jay N. Ding Darling, located near Brighton. A premiere showing of the documentary was held at the park in December. Lake Darling was first established in 1950, but closed for a time and was reopened in 2014. The documentary will be on Iowa Public Television Sunday, April 17th at 1 p.m., Monday, April 25th at 10 p.m. and Thursday, April 28th at 6:30 p.m.
