The Mid-Prairie girls golf team hosted their annual Hawk Invite Tournament at the Kalona Golf Course Thursday night.

The event is an annual 18 hole tournament but was cut short to just nine holes due to inclement weather. The Columbus Wildcats placed fourth out of nine teams with their combined score of 198. Fairfield took the team championship with their score of 182. The Wildcats were led by a pair of medalists, Kortney Orr with a 44 and Sara Todd with a 48. Other scores for Columbus included Emily and Aubrey Duncan with 53s and Marissa Hafner with a 55.

Mid-Prairie finished sixth with a season low team score of 211. The Golden Hawks were led by medalist Allyson Wertz who finished second with a 38. She was bested only by Lindsey Repp of Fairfield who fired a 34.

Other scores for the Golden Hawks included Paige Slabaugh at 53, Lindsey Palmer and Olivia Nisly at 60, Kenzie Bontrager with a 66 and Tiffany Fisher at 78.

Mid-Prairie will next be in action Monday when they travel to West Branch. Columbus will next be on the course Tuesday when they travel back to Kalona to take on IMS.
