The Mid-Prairie boys soccer team is set to open the season tonight when they travel to No. 15 Clear Creek Amana.

The Golden Hawks are coming off of a 2015 that saw them finish with an 8-7 overall record while building experience at key positions. The Golden Hawks did lose their top three scorers, Jordan Ulin at 10 goals, Anthony Gingerich at five goals and Jarrett Truit at four goals, to graduation.

Mid-Prairie and Clear Creek Amana opened the season against one another last year in much the same circumstances, the Clippers ranked in the top fifteen while the Hawks were under the radar. Mid-Prairie took an early 1-0 lead and held that advantage until the final 10 minutes when a furious comeback by the Clippers saw them steal a 2-1 win in Wellman. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. at Clear Creek Amana High School.
