Students will soon be able to attend some classes at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center virtually through Weblive courses. Tera Pickens, director of the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center, explains these are different from traditional online classes because students log in via a webcam to attend the class at a certain time. Usually online classes don’t have a set schedule associated and students have to stay on track on their own.

She adds being able to offer classes in this fashion removes the barrier of transportation or distance for students because they’ll be able to participate from home or their desks at work. Pickens says it’ll offer more opportunities to students.

The Weblive classes will begin in the fall and students can earn their entire Associate of Arts degree using this format. For more information listen to the full Washington Page with Pickens on KCII today.
