As his second term starts to winds down, Iowa District 39 Senator Kevin Kinney says he’s been pleased with the work he has accomplished. The Republican Senator from Oxford says patience and working along party lines has been key in getting a number of his bills passed into law.

Among Senator Kinney’s achievements includes working with State Representative Jarad Klein (R) of Keota to pass companion legislation allowing first responders to administer emergency drugs to patients suffering from a drug overdose. The bill was signed into law by Governor Terry Brandstand on April 6.

Kinney is hopeful the current session will adjourn this Friday, but expects to conclude the 2016 session early next week.
