Last year 695 animals came into PAWS and More animal shelter in Washington and one thing area residents can do to help alleviate this is to get their pets spayed and neutered. Amber Talbot, director of the shelter, encourages people to have their animals fixed and explains the shelter works with the Iowa Humane Alliance for low cost spay and neuter services every month. Pet owners can call the shelter to sign up for the low cost services. The owners will drop their pet off at the shelter, and the animals are then taken to Cedar Rapids for the service and brought back the next day. Talbot says this is an important thing for pet owners to do. Listen to the full interview with Talbot at KCIIRadio.com.
