The Kalona Golf Course is the sight of a triangular tonight with three KCII area teams going head to head. The Washington, Mid-Prairie and Columbus girls golf teams will all be in attendance.

The Demons picked up 2016 where they left off in 2015, claiming last week’s Keokuk Invitational championship. The 2015 class 4A champions did it with a team score of 344, besting the field by 19 shots. Washington was led at the event by Sarah Nacos. Last year’s class 4A individual champ fired the medalist round with a three under par 71.

The Mid-Prairie girls have played one event so far this year, falling in Kalona to the West Branch Bears on a tiebreaker card back. Mid-Prairie was led on the night by medalist Allyson Wertz and her 45. Other Golden Hawk scores included Olivia Nisly at 57, Paige Slabaugh with a 58, Lindsey Palmer at 62, Abby Statler with a 72 and Kenzi Bontrager with a 79.

The Columbus Wildcats have a veteran group in 2016, led by four seniors Grace Chapman, Emily Duncan, Kortney Orr and Sarah Todd. In 2015 the Wildcats had a nine hole average score of 223. Orr was the team leader a year ago with a nine hole average of 48. Emily Duncan and Sarah Todd bother averaged 56 strokes per nine holes. Action begins tonight at 4p.m. and continues into the evening at the Kalona Golf Course.
