The Washington High School FFA chapter recently honored members at its annual parent and member banquet at the school. Gracie Greiner received the Star Greenhand award, presented to a first-year member who has excelled in academics, developing leadership skills and in development of a supervised agricultural experience project. Sam Reed received the Star Farmer award. Jameson Spenner was awarded the Star in Agribusiness award and Morgan Brinning was given the Star in Agricultural Placement award. The Most Valuable Member award went to Joceline Spenner. The DeKalb Award, given to a senior who has shown oustanding leadership, academic performance and an outstanding supervised agricultural experience project, went to McKenna Brinning. Community members Kurt Dallmeyer, John Carter and Barry Clough were awarded honorary chapter FFA degrees. The students thanks retiring advisor Duane Van Winkle for his 25 years in the school district.
