In front of her home crowd, Columbus junior Shania Boyd broke one of the school’s track and field records at Tuesday’s Wildcat Relays. Boyd won four events she participated in, including the long jump, the 100 meter hurdles, the 400 meter hurdles, and as the anchor leg of the 4×100 meter shuttle hurdle relay team.

The most notable finish for Boyd came in the 400 meter hurdles as she completed the quarter-mile race in 1:07.12, topping the field by nearly five seconds. Boyd broke the previous 400 meter hurdles record of 1:08.44 set by Summer Chandler in 2005.

Columbus finished second in the team standings with 112.5 points. The West Burlington/Notre Dame Falcons won the Wildcat Relays, earning a meet best 134 points.
