Postseason accolades continue to accumulate for a Washington Demon alum playing collegiate baseball at Cornell College. Sophomore Walker Breard, a 2014 Demon graduate, found his name on D3Baseball.com’s All-Region Third team on Monday, and the 2016 American Baseball Coaches Associations/Rawlings All-Central Region Second team on Wednesday.

Breard batted cleanup for the Rams in 37 of the team’s 38 games, and provided an offensive spark all season for Cornell. He broke the school record with a league-best 51 RBIs. Breard posted a .367 batting average, recording nine doubles and 10 home runs, which tied for the conference lead.

In two seasons, Breard stands among Cornell’s all-time leaders in slugging percentage (.703, second), home runs (20, third) and RBIs (87, sixth). He has totaled 94 hits in 68 career games. Earlier this month, the Midwest Conference honored Breard with a spot on the first team all-conference squad.

Cornell finishes their season with a 22-16 record, a three-win improvement from last season.
