Thursday will mark the first Farmers Market of the season in downtown Washington and attendees will have a chance to visit the Traces BUS-eum, a museum on a bus focused on Iowa. Questions like – “Why did Iowa send the most soldiers to the Civil War per capita?” and, “Why did the Ku Klux Klan flourish here in the 1920’s?” and “How did Iowa farmers and college students bring 185 refugees of Nazi-occupied Europe to the Heartland?” will be answered. The mobile museum will be parked in front of the library from 5 to 8 p.m. and there will be an Iowa history presentation from 6 to 7 p.m. in the library. The exhibit is open to all ages.
