Lake Darling is proving to be a popular place this Memorial Day weekend, and the camping availability has already become few and far between. Currently all 55 standard electric and all 16 full hook-up campsites are full for the weekend. There are still standard non-electric campsites available, as well as shelters, cabins, and the lodge, but the sites continue to fill up fast. Reservations are also opening up for the modern cabins, which are new this summer. The six newly constructed year-round cabins offer several modern amenities not available in the traditional cabins, such as a queen-sized bed, basic appliances, and a restroom with shower.

Lake Darling fisheries biologist Chad Dolan said he expects Lake Darling to be a big destination as people head out for the first big weekend of the summer. Campers, anglers, and boaters alike are expected to make keep the area busy. Dolan also encourages visitors to take a look around the area to see changes that have been made over the last two years.
