Wednesday morning the Washington County Communications department received a call of a person trying to flag down cars on G36, west of Water’s Edge, and authorities responded. At 4:27 a.m. authorities located a vehicle in the ditch along G36. It had run out of gas, was left in neutral and rolled into the ditch. Damage totaled less than $1,500 and the car was towed from the scene.

According to Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar, the subject claimed to have been the victim of a hit and run in Johnson County on I-80. No charges were filed in Washington County.
