Construction work can be seen at two Washington schools. At Stewart Elementary school crews are breaking ground and pouring concrete. Principal Adam Miller told the school board this week that the students enjoy watching the progress, as well as community members who stop by to see what is going on.

The other project is set to be complete this fall – the auditorium addition at Washington High School. Superintendent Jeff Dicks said a subcontractor who was supposed to work last weekend on the clouds didn’t as much as they needed and it is now holding up other aspects of the work. The clouds are pieces that hang from the ceiling for aesthetic and acoustic purposes. The project will be finished in the fall, but is unlikely to be done before school begins. Also, the district’s technology staff is attending weekly meetings to develop plans to make sure the space is part of the network and has wireless access, among other things.
