The newest season of Washington Demon baseball begins tonight.The Demons open the season on the road, traveling to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School for a non-conference meeting against the Rockets.

Washington returns 12 players who contributed during the Demons’ 6-20 campaign last summer.  Juniors Dakota Kron and Ryan Loy are Washington’s top run producing returners from last season, each driving in 17 runs. A quartet of juniors appeared in more than 25 innings on the mound in 2015, including Zach Londberg, Collin Zear, Michael Gier, and Tanner Coleman.

This is the fourth straight season the Demons open up their regular season schedule against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. The Rockets won last year’s meeting, 7-6, at Dick Sojka Memorial Field on May 26.

First pitch of tonight’s varsity game between the Demons and Rockets is set for 7:30 p.m. in Eddyville.
