The postseason run for the Washington Demon boys’ soccer team (2-11 overall) was short lived. The Demons opened the playoffs in the quarterfinal round of the Class 2A Substate 4 bracket, battling the Fairfield Trojans (9-5 overall). Behind a pair of hat tricks, the Trojans ushered the Demons into the offseason with a 8-0 defeat.

Senior Solomon Constant and junior Brayden Miller each deposited three goals in the net. Sophomore Shawn Spurrier scored a goal and assisted on four others, helping the Torjans advance their season to Wednesday’s semifinal round versus the Fort Madison Bloodhounds (14-1 overall).

Sophomore Thomas Zimmer made 19 saves in goal for Washington, bringing his season total to 176.

Washington concludes the season with a 2-11 overall record. The Demons lose Christian Mejia and Giovanni Coronel to graduation.
