In Iowa, 125 people have died in crash-related deaths so far this year, 21 of which have been just this month. Alex Dinkla with the Iowa State Patrol reminds people to be careful on the roads this holiday weekend and don’t use your cell phone while driving. He adds to always have a designated driver when you plan to drink. Last year, there were 320 traffic fatalities in the state. The Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is reminding people to buckle their seat belts. From May 23rd through June 6th Click It or Ticket efforts will be focusing on seat belt violators.
