As anglers head out to enjoy the outdoors over Memorial Day weekend, it’s important to know regulations on fishing. Lake Darling fisheries biologist Chad Dolan broke down size, bag, and possession limits for the fish that can be found locally. For large-mouth bass, there is a 15-inch minimum length limit, a bag limit of three, and a possession limit of six. For blue gill and crappie, there is no length limit, but there is a bag limit of 25 for each species. For channel catfish, there is also no length limit, but there is a bag limit of eight and a possession limit of 30. The bag limit refers to the amount of fish that can be caught per day of one species, while possession limit is the amount you can have at any one time. Fish smaller than the inch minimums must be thrown back.
