The Mid-Prairie girls track and field team took the overall championship at the Highland Co-ed track meet Monday.

The Golden hawks won the event with 106 points, Tipton was second with 91 points. Mid-Prairie captured six event championships on the night. Three of those came from sophomore Anna Hostetler. Fresh off of a big weekend in Des Moines at the Drake Relays Hostetler rolled through the competition at Highland. She won the 3000m with a time of 10:33.30, smashing the previous meet record by 35 seconds. Hostetler also took the 800 title in 2:31.18, beating the previous meet record by a tenth of a second. Hostetler’s final title came in the 1500 with her time of 5:14.03. The Golden Hawks also posted two relay titles on the night. The Mid-Prairie 4×800 team of Abby Tornow, Greta Schmidt, Hannah VanRoekel and Maddi Zahradnek were champions with their time of 10:24.03. The Mid-Prairie distance medley also brought home the team title. The team of Emily Cayton, Alex Rath, Abby Tornow and Anna Hostetler smashed the previous meet record by four full seconds with their time of 4:26.72.

The Golden Hawks will next be in action Thursday when they travel to West Branch for the River Valley Conference meet.
