The Iowa Mennonite School softball team opened their season Friday night with a road trip to Mediapolis. IMS fell to the Bullettes by a 9-3 score.

Despite dropping the contest, IMS had chances offensively. The Iowa Mennonite offense pounded out 11 hits and left eight runners on the base paths. Individually, IMS was led at the plate by Averie Blauvelt, she finished three for four with an RBI, Rubye Ney was two for three with an RBI and Callie Shaw had a double and an RBI. In the circle Hannah Harris got the start, she walked three in taking the loss. IMS is now 0-1 on the season, they will be back in action June 6th when they host Highland in a Superconference contest.
