Mediapolis got on top early, knocking off Iowa Mennonite School in the conference and season baseball opener for both teams 15-7.

Mediapolis got on the board with three runs in the first and added one more in the second to extend their lead to 4-0. IMS answered with a single tally in the third, only to see the Bulldogs post four in the bottom of the fourth to extend their advantage to 8-1. IMS countered with two more in the fifth to climb within 8-3 but it was Mediapolis again who added on with four in the fifth to make it 12-3. IMS scored four of their own in the sixth to get within 12-7 but MEPO added three more insurance runs in the bottom of the frame to secure the win. IMS was led on the night by Drake Brezina who was two for three with three driven in, Nick Yutzy was two for three with three runs scored and an RBI. With the loss IMS is now 0-1 on the year and will be back on the diamond Tuesday when they host Holy Trinity.
