The Iowa Mennonite School boys soccer team hung tough with 2A Mount Vernon Tuesday night on the campus of IMS but in the end the Mustangs got the 2-1 win.

Mount Vernon found the scoreboard first, sending a shot to the back of the net in the sixth minute to take a 1-0 lead. The game stood at 1-0 going into the halftime break. In the second half Mount Vernon doubled their lead with a goal off of a direct kick finish in the 54th minute. Iowa Mennonite got on the board in the final five minutes on a great effort from Jacob Boller who crossed a ball into the box, finding Jacob Schmeider who found the back of the net. Cole Yoder had a career night in goal for IMS, making 13 saves. With the loss IMS falls to 5-5 on the year, they will next be in action tonight when they host Danville.
