Corn and soybean planting in Iowa is ahead of the five-year average, according to the USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition report. In southeast Iowa, 82% of corn has been planted, and the state is eight days ahead of the five-year average with a total of 80% of Iowa’s corn in the ground. Iowa has 29% of soybeans planted, five days ahead of the average and southeast Iowa is ahead of that with 36% of the crop planted.
