The Iowa High School State Track Meet continues into Saturday and already the KCII area has had athletes claim championships. Keiffer Sexton of Highland won the 3200 meter race for Class 1A. Lone Tree’s Jovonte Squires is the Class 1A state champion in long jump. Mid-Prairie’s Levi Duwa set a new school record in shot put and took third in the event for Class 2A. Anna Hostetler of Mid-Prairie finished third in the 3000 meter race.

Mauricio Ramirez of Columbus Community has advanced to the 2A 100 meter dash finals. Also, Bryce Achen of WACO and Bryce Robison of Winfield-Mt. Union have advanced to Saturday’s finals of the 1A boys’ 200 meter dash. Garrett Baker of Winfield-Mt. Union advances to the 1A 100 meter dash finals. Sigourney’s Autumn Barthelman qualified for the finals of the 1A 100 meter dash.
