At Monday’s meeting the Mid-Prairie School Board approved the hire of Robin Foster to fill the principal vacancy at Kalona and Washington Township Elementary Schools.

Foster, currently a Kindergarten teacher in the Center Point-Urbana School District was one of 36 candidates who applied for the position. Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider talked about the interview process this week; “The first round of candidates consisted of eight applicants, from those eight, three were chosen to have follow-up interviews with myself. Foster’s references have spoken very highly of her and she performed very well throughout the entire process.”

Foster will begin with the district at the start of the 2016-17 school year. She replaces former principal Teresa Beenblossom, who accepted a position with the Washington School District.
