Washington Middle School students are rallying around a six-year-old girl named Kamille who is battling a digestive system disease to help get her a play set this summer. The goal is to raise $3,000 and is led by the school’s Builders Club. Principal Curt Mayer tells KCII News it’s a great project for middle school students, as it shows their dedication to leadership and helping the community.

After two days of fundraising this week, the Wish Meter is at $493. Mayer adds they’re hoping to have Kamille visit the students before school lets out for summer vacation. Anyone in the community wishing to contribute is asked to contact Mayer at the middle school.
