Crops are being planted in southeast Iowa at a rate faster than the overall state. According to the USDA’s latest crop progress and condition report, 67% of corn is planted and 16% is emerged in southeast Iowa, while only 57% is planted across Iowa with seven percent emerged. Southeast Iowa is also ahead of the state in soybean planted with 15% in the ground, compared to seven percent statewide.
