Two days ahead of last year and six days ahead of the five-year average, farmers in Iowa nearly have all of their corn crop planted with 96% in the ground. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, corn is on pace with last year across the state with 75% of it emerging. In southeast Iowa, 95% of corn is planted and 79% has emerged.
Southeast Iowa producers are on par with the state rate, with 74% of soybeans planted so far.
