Many area athletes will be on the blue oval at Drake Stadium in Des Moines today, taking part in the final day of the 2016 Iowa State Track meet.

For Mid-Prairie Anna Hostelter will participate in the 800 Saturday, she qualified third with her time of 2:20.74, Hostetler will also run the 1500 Saturday, where she has the best time in the field at 4:48.44. Mid-Prairie’s Andrew Schwartz made the state meet field, qualifying 18th of 24 in the 800 with a time of 2:03.97, he will run at 10:30 Saturday morning. Luke Sigler will run the 1600 in Des Moines Saturday afternoon at 1:45.

For Lone Tree Brock Smith will run the 800 for the Lions Saturday, his qualifying time of 2:05.14 places him 11th in the 24 person field.

For the Sigourney Savages, the boys 4×100 relay team of Peyton Crawford, Ben Appleget, Bryce Goldman and Jordan Albert are 13th in Saturday’s 24 team field with their time of 45.33. For the Sigourney girls Autum Barthelman qualified for the finals of the 100m dash, finishing third in the prelims with her time of 13.01 seconds. She will run again Saturday. The Savages shuttle hurdle relay team of Autum Barthelman, Sloane Magill, Leah Carter and Allison Schroeder will run Saturday, they are 10th in the 24 team field with their time of 1:11.08. The Sigourney 4×100 team of Summer and Autum Barthelman, Brooke Waechter and Leah Carter will run Saturday at state, they are 11th out of 24 teams with a time of 52.65 seconds.

For the Columbus Wildcats, Mauricio Ramirez advanced through the prelims of the 100m dash with his time of 11.39 in fifth place. He will run in the finals on Saturday.
