A spelling bee held in Washington earlier this month helped raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. For the second year in a row the United Presbyterian Home held the bee to raise Alzheimer’s awareness and 13 people participated. After 82 words and 13 rounds Dorothy Koehler was the winner and Gwen Ying took second place. There was also a second round where nine residents spelled all 50 states.
