While Washington School District students have been on summer break for nearly a week, summer learning programs are gearing up to keep their minds active. One program focusing on STEM – science, technology, engineering and math – is being offered to girls in 2nd through 5th grades in Washington through the library. The Maker Girl Mobile will offer four sessions in June and is teaming up with the library. Jenisa Harris of the Washington Public Library says the program is sponsored by the AAUW and it is free to local girls.

Also, summer reading at the library for all ages starts in June. To register for their events from toddlers to adults, that include visits from the zoo to how to cook healthy meals in the microwave, contact the library.
