Representing southeast Iowa at last week’s Class 1A state golf tournament was the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves. The Wolves competed last Friday and Saturday at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown. W-MU finished in the middle of the pack, placing fourth out of eight teams with a collective score of 670. East Buchanan, Winthrop won the Class 1A team title with a score of 620.

Sophomore Kaleb Hagge posted a top-three finish individually. Last year’s Class 1A individual state champion finished this year’s event in third place, carding back-to-back rounds of 74 for a final score of 148. East Buchanan junior Chris Cooksley won the individual state championship, recording a two-day score of 143.

Senior Kolt Rossiter concluded his high school golf career with a ninth place finish overall, carding a 76 in round one and 79 in round two for an overall score of 155. Sophomore Kash Rossiter tied for 33rd with a 36-hole score of 175. Senior Darren Hunter rounded out the Wolves’ scoring, shooting a 192.
