The end of the track season came Friday afternoon for the Washington Demon programs. Washington was featured in six Class 3A event, including five on the girls side.

Junior Caleb Bex wrapped up the Demon boys’ track season in the preliminary race of the 110 meter hurdles. His time was clocked at 16.08 seconds, the 15th best performance in the 24-person field.

Washington junior Jessie Buchholz represented the Demons in the preliminary race of the Class 3A girls’ 100 meter hurdles. She completed the race in 16.64 seconds, placing 18th out of 24 competitors.

Two girls relay teams competed Friday at the blue oval. The Demons’ 4×200 meter relay team of senior Amber Salow, freshman Isabel Bailey, freshman Jenah Greiner, and senior Kelly Wheeler crossed the finish line in 1:50.54, the 23rd fastest time. Washington’s 4×100 meter relay squad of junior Makenzi Marek, freshman Jenah Greiner, senior Amber Salow, and senior Kelly Wheeler clocked a time of 51.39, the 13th best performance.

Finally, a pair of Demons competed in field event finals. Freshman Isabel Bailey participated in the long jump competition. Her best leap was measured at 14′8.75″, placing 20th out of 24 competitors. Senior McKayla Miller concluded her high school athletic career in the shot put. Her best throw came in at 33’2.5″, placing 21st out of the 24-person field.
