Mid-Prairie senior golfer Allyson Wertz is receiving accolades that highlight her impressive Golden Hawk career.

This week Wertz was named to the All-Iowa girls’ golf team. Wertz was one of 25 female golfers from around the state to make the squad, and one of only five selected from all of class 3A. Wertz was the team medalist for the Golden Hawks in every event of the 2016 season. Her nine hole average of 44, ranks her seventh in all of class 3A. Wertz came up with a big performance in round one of the postseason, firing a career best at 76 at the Kalona Golf Course, including a one under 34 on the front nine of the event, helping the Hawks move on the regional final. During her career Wertz has also made appearances at the state tournament with the Golden Hawks as a team and has been an all-state selection multiple times.
