It has been a wet week in Washington with about an inch of rain falling Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, so far this May Washington has observed over the normal 1.67 inches of precipitation at 2.5 inches received. Flooding did occur in Wellman and at the English River in Kalona earlier this week. Also, for the first 11 days of the month the temperature has been about two degrees below the normal average temperature of 57.8 degrees.
