An event to demonstrate ham radio’s ability to help during a communication outage will be held in Washington this weekend. The Washington Amateur Radio Club is hosting a field day Saturday and Sunday at Sunset Park. The club will demonstrate how the ham radios work. During disasters if standard communication infrastructure is harmed and internet or cell phone usage isn’t an option, ham radios can be used. You can also get information at the event about becoming a licensed amateur radio operator.
