Iowa’s corn crop and soybean planting is ahead of normal according to the most recent report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Across Iowa, 97% of corn has emerged, nine days ahead of normal. In southeast Iowa, 96% of corn has emerged. Soybean planting is also ahead of normal across Iowa by 11 days with 94% complete. In southeast Iowa, 95% of soybeans have been planted and 79% have emerged. The overall corn crop is 80% good to excellent while soybeans are at the same mark – 69% good and 11% excellent.
