The City of Crawfordsville is celebrating 125 years of incorporation with Fun Days this weekend. The celebration happens every other year, and two years ago most of the events were rained out. The forecast for this weekend has mostly sunny skies, so organizer Sonya Love-Smith is hopeful for a big turn out. She said she’s excited to have the town full of people to experience events like the parade, tractor show, and water fights.

Some of the new events people can look forward to are the softball, bean bag, and euchre tournaments, as well as some classic events like the legs and beard contests. Love-Smith believes this is an important event because it will be an opportunity for the residents of the small town to get out of their houses and come together as a community. Fun Days begins Friday night with the outdoor family movie, “Field of Dreams,” and continues Saturday starting at 6 a.m. For a full list of events, visit the Crawfordsville Community Club’s Facebook page.
