Another week of Washington Demon baseball (9-6 overall) begins today at Dick Sojka Memorial Field. The Demons welcome the Mediapolis Bulldogs (8-5 overall) to Washington for two non-conference games.

All six setbacks Washington has suffered this season have come during doubleheaders, posting a 3-0 record in single games. Last week, Washington dropped game two of league doubleheaders against Keokuk (9-6) on Monday and Mount Pleasant (9-1) on Thursday. The only time Washington has won both games of a doubleheader this year came on May 27, sweeping a pair of Southeast Conference games versus the Fort Madison Bloodhounds (11-0; 11-1).

The Bulldogs were last in action Saturday, hosting a non-conference doubleheader against the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks. Mediapolis swept Mid-Prairie, winning game one 5-4 and game two, 4-3.

KCII Sports will be on the air with live play-by-play coverage of both games beginning with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame Show at 5 p.m. and first pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com.
