The upcoming football season is still over two months away, but offseason training begins this week for the Washington Demons. Head football coach Garrison Carter talked with KCII Sports about several team camps his team will take part in.

The first camp takes place Monday in Ames as Washington’s skill players will take part in the Iowa State University  2016 7-on-7 Shootout. The session is used as a day of instruction and skill development relating to the offensive and defensive passing game. Carter says he’s in favor of the camp because it’s the first chance for his players to compete against other athletes.

Washington will host a pair of 7-on-7 camps on June 26 and July 12, along with holding a full padded team camp on July 30-31. The Demon football team is scheduled to return multiple offensive and defensive starters from last year’s 7-3 campaign.
