An eventful week continues tonight for the Washington Demon softball team (2-7 overall). The Demons will stay in Washington tonight, hosting the No. 6 Oskalooa Indians (6-1 overall) in a pair of non-conference contests.

The Demons opened their week, hosting two Southeast Conference games versus the No. 9 Keokuk Chiefs (6-5 overall). Washington was swept in the doubleheader against the Chiefs, falling 14-4 in game one and 13-6 in game two.

Sophomore Brooke Stout highlighted the Demons Monday, hitting a two-run home run in game one versus Keokuk, scoring two runs in the doubleheader.

Coming into play Monday, Osklaoosa senior Kylee Silliman leads the Indians in several offensive categories including batting average (.565), on base percentage (.600), hits (13), and is tied for the team lead in doubles (3). Junior Alexis Groet has won four of her five starts this season, posting an earned run average of 1.27. Her 66 strikeouts are the fourth most in Class 4A.
