The Mid-Prairie baseball team suffered a setback on the road Thursday night, falling to the Fairfield Trojans by an 8-5 final score.

The Golden Hawks took the lead early, scoring a run in their first at bat. The Trojans answered with one in the second to tie the game. The Golden Hawks went up again with three runs in the third to take a 4-1 lead. Fairfield countered with two in the third, three in the fourth and a pair in the fifth to go up 8-4. The Hawks rally in the seventh would plate one run but they would ultimately fall short. With the loss Mid-Prairie is now 9-12 on the season, they will next be in action Monday when they host West Branch in a River Valley Conference doubleheader.
