Heavy rain fell from Tuesday night into the early morning hours Wednesday, causing a flash flood warning to be issued until 10:15 a.m. for northeastern Washington County, as well as portions of Louisa, Johnson and Muscatine counties. Cities to experience flooding include Riverside, Conesville, Lone Tree, and Nichols.

Even with Tuesday’s rain, precipitation totals for the month of June in Washington remain below normal. In the first 21 days of June, Washington observed 1.29 inches of rain, while 3.44 inches is normal during that time according to the National Weather Service.
