The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team is back on the diamond tonight after nearly a week layoff when they host West Burlington, Notre Dame.

IMS is 1-1 on the season after their win Tuesday over Holy Trinity Catholic 10-0 in six innings. Noah Bruns, Drake Brezina, Tobyn Bender, Jacob Schmeider, Blake Bontrager and Reggie Borntrager all recorded two hits on the night. Bontrager twirled the complete game shut out on the mound going all six, giving up three hits, walking one and striking out seven. On the year IMS is led by Brezina who is hitting .667. He and Tobyn Bender share the team lead with four RBI. Bontrager is out to a 1-0 start on the mound with opponents hitting just .143 against him.

West Bulrington is 5-1 on the young season. In their last game they edged Louisa-Muscatine 4-3. The Falcons are led by Masin Shullaw who is hitting .429 on the season with nine hits and seven runs scored. Jayden Zurita, Tate Snodgrass and Cameron Guihan are also all hitting .400 or better for the Falcons. Zurita and Snodgrass lead the way on the mound, they are a combined 2-0 for the year. Zurita has yet to allow a run.
