This Saturday will see the Kalona Historical Village take a step back in time at the movies. At their Annual Tea, they will be featuring historian Mike Zahs and the Brinton Films. Zahs will be showing selections of the Brinton films and demonstrating the magic lantern slides. The tea will also feature appetizers from the 1880’s. Organizer Nancy Roth is hoping for a big turnout, saying some people may be hesitant to come to new events, but once they arrive, they see how fun it is. She believes with the inclusion of Zahs there could be anywhere from 30-40 people, but would be overjoyed to fill the room with 100.

Roth said every year they have a different source of entertainment, and they’re excited to bring in the Brinton films this year. Last year they, featured the group Just Us Girls from Washington, and they entertained attendees with their singing and dancing. Tickets for the event are $15 and must be purchased before June 6th.
